Green Valley 06-10 Lizard/Lace
Jeff and I did a job in the town of Green Valley which is about 30 miles south of Tuscon Az. It is a beautiful retirement community with stunning views of the Santa Rita mountains. It turned out being a 3 day job. We started by heading down to Green Valley early in the morning on fathers day to do the first of several steps of the job. The 2nd day we worked for 11 and ½ hours straight without any breaks. Jeff was shooting the deck with the hopper gun and I was doing the knockdown. That was a long hard day for both of us. I was glad to get to the Wyndham Hotel for dinner (marginal) and the hot tub.
The view was outstanding with great views of a rock face called elephant butte with Kitt Peak National Observatory on top of the mountain above the butte.
The job we did was about 1700 sq feet of lace (kool deck) with a lizard inserted in the concrete entryway. The homeowner Reed had a stencil made of the lizard for Jeff to work with. That was a good move as it worked great. Jeff had a good time playing with his lizard as I was prepping the lace and painting the deck. The lizard looked awesome after Jeff painstakingly detailed the lizard by stamping it, carving it and painting it along with adding some paint chips for a realistic skin look.
The final product turned out great with the clients loving the job.
