Washington Park/Payson 07/25-27/08
Margaret and I went to Washington Park to stay in a cabin with Beau, Colleen their son Liam, Michelle and Bill from CA, as well as Gary and Kathy. Ryan and Hanna were there for awhile with their new baby Danica as well. She is so cute. We drove up Friday early afternoon. It was 95 when we hit Rye, it started to rain and was 65 when we hit Payson. How nice. It rained for a couple of hours after we arrived. It was great to see the rain.
On Sat I went for a hike around the horn. The water flowing in the Verde is beautiful. After that I went for a short ride to make sure the trails I wanted to take a few people on were still passable. They were so after a break I took a few on a beautiful trail ride. Even Liam rode his quad through and did a great job. There were a few tough spots but everyone made it through on their own.
After another rest I took Beau, Bill and Gary on another trail ride. It was looking like it may rain again so we didn’t go very far. We headed to some trails I was on a few years ago. Again there were a couple of places to make your eyes get a little bigger but that is what makes it fun. We even went through some mud holes. I tried to avoid most of them because I hate the clean up but one was all the way across the trail. Oh well it was fun. I even found the short cut that came out right near the cabin we were staying at.
Another fun camp fire was had on Saturday night along with some adult beverages to set off the day.
What a blast to be in the cool weather.
