Boulders 12-06-08
Three of us went on a fast paced ride at the boulders Sunday morning. It was Bob, Zane and me. We started out just after the sun came up and went to Bob’s landing. This time Bob didn’t check out the underside of his quad.
Next we headed out to do some of the fun hill climbs. I got Bob to ride the Polaris 850 XP. He loved it but wanted to get back on his Polaris 800 so he wouldn’t be overly temped to buy one himself. Once again the 850 is truly a remarkable machine. It is so smooth and powerful I love it. The ADC is incredible as well.
We hit a bunch of the hill climbs and even found a small jump to play on for a bit. Bob wanted me to get a good look at his skid plated o he went almost vertical off the jump. After playing on the hills we hit some washes. I was looking for a connecting trail around the mountains but they dead ended to a single track trail. Oh well we had fun chasing each other in the washes. Zane and I switched as well for a while.
Next we went over to one of the harder trails in the area. I found the trail I wanted to see if Justin can make it up in the Teryx but I don’t think I can get him to the hill climbs unless we can move a large boulder that is in the middle of the trail. We can squeeze by on our ATV’s just barley, but there is a drop off on the down hill side. Oh well, so we headed to finish the tough trail where I have seen a few mishaps. I was leading and was surprised but how much worse (better for us) the trail had gotten. There was a couple of climbs that you had to stop and take a look at before just hitting it as there were large ruts, moguls and ledges. I didn’t get any photos because we were rolling through the trail fast. I can’t wait to try it with the Teryx.
What a fun fast 40+ miles for a beautiful Sunday morning. I love to be able to go out in the desert and ride with good friends.
